Crock Pot Apple Cobbler

A quick and easy dessert that pairs perfectly with vanilla ice cream!
  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced (Gala is preferred)
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP all-purpose flour
  • 1 TBSP lemon juice
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • Dash of ground nutmeg
  • 1¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 8TBSP (1 stick) butter, cut into cubes
  1. Spray slow cooker with nonstick spray.
  2. Add apples to slow cooker.
  3. Add brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
  5. Add butter chunks and combine with fingers or pastry cutter until mixture is crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle crumbly flour mixture over apples, and pat down with fingers.
  7. Place a clean dishtowel over slow cooker, and add slow cooker lid on top of the dishtowel.
  8. Cover and cook on high 2½ hours.
  9. Uncover and cook about an hour more, or until topping is set and apples are to desired softness.
