Crock Pot Thursday: Steak and Gravy
Prep time: 10 mins
Total time: 9 hours 10 mins
  • 2-3 lbs top sirloin or London broil, sliced
  • 2 packets brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet Au Jus mix
  • 2 cups water
  1. Place sliced beef in slow cooker and dump mix packets and water on top, mixing well.
  2. Cover and cook on low, 8-10 hours.
  3. Stir well, and serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
  4. If the gravy is too thin, combine a tablespoon cornstarch with a tablespoon cold water, and add it to the slow cooker to thicken.

I am a sucker for the easy, minimum ingredient, no prep Crock Pot recipes. This recipe fits this to a tee. I let this cook about 9 hours, and the tender meat in the yummy gravy was perfect. We had ours with mashed potatoes, and it really tasted good, It made a good quantity, and will be great left over.

This was awesome and easy! A total make again! Make this!

Our gravy was a little thin, but it was easily thickened up with some cornstarch. If you want to shave a few minutes off of the already ridiculously easy preparation, throw the meat in unsliced. It will be fork tender after cooking all day anyway!
