I’m always on the lookout for crafts that are low cost and low effort, and these easy Halloween poppers are easy on the pocketbook and are simple enough for the kids to do with very little help.
I usually have most of the materials on hand for this fun Halloween craft, and only need to buy the seasonal tissue paper and treats to put inside. I also have to squirrel away the empty toilet paper rolls, otherwise my kids use them to make binoculars or yell at each other with homemade paper bullhorns.
These poppers would also be super cute for other holidays, like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, or International Talk Like a Pirate Day, which we just missed, matey.
Whatever the occasion, the kids will love these fun poppers, and you’ll have fun eating the candy while supervising the assembly line.
What’s Needed
- 6 Empty Toilet Paper Tubes
- Tissue Paper—orange, green, purple, light purple, Halloween print
- Pipe Cleaners
- Googly Eyes
- Glue Stick
- Candy and Small Toys
Directions
Cut 2 sheets of dark purple tissue paper 12×7 inches. Cut 2 sheets of light purple tissue paper 12×10 inches. (Or whatever color combinations you are using!)
Lay the bigger sheets on top of the small sheets and lay a tube on the longer edge and glue the paper to it.
Roll the paper tightly around the tube and glue the other edge down.
Cut the pipe cleaners in half.
Squeeze together the paper at one end of the tube, wrap a pipe cleaner around it and twist it tight to hold it together.
Fill the tube with candy and toys, and squeeze the other paper together at the other end of the tube and twist closed with a pipe cleaner.
Glue googly eyes on and draw a mouth.
Repeat Steps 1-7 with the other colors of tissue paper.
Party down!
