Things I Wrote
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, I wrote about My Favorite Hour of the Week, when I volunteer in my son’s kindergarten classroom.
My mother-in-law is amazing and full of wisdom, and on her birthday I listed 10 Things I’ve Learned From My Mother-in-Law. I am in an unofficial Favorite Daughter-in-Law competition with my husband’s oldest brother’s wife, and she had a baby last week. Since I wasn’t giving her a beautiful granddaughter for her birthday, I wrote a post for her instead. I think my sister-in-law won that round.
We made Sausage Breakfast Casserole for Crock Pot Thursday, and everyone liked it. A few people (not me) stepped it up a notch and added sausage gravy to it, and when my husband heard about that I got a “What the hell, woman?” Next time, you guys? I’m making some gravy.
Things That Make Me Happy
Twitter made me a happy girl last week. First, Mashable named me in it’s 17 Funny Moms on Twitter list. I’ll tell you right now that I pretty much love anyone who calls me funny, but to list me with famous people and hilarious Twitter powerhouses? That made my week.
If that wasn’t enough, HuffPost Parents listed me in their 25 Funniest Tweets From Parents This Week. I love me some Huffington Post, and some of my favorites are frequently on this list, so this honor rocked my world, too. While I was grinning over all of this Twitter business, my husband was looking confused. He doesn’t know why I’m excited to be in the same company as Kelly Oxford and The Bloggess, mostly because they don’t play baseball for the Seattle Mariners, so he doesn’t know who they are.
I have two book signings coming up this week. Two book signings in three days. One could call that a book tour, which you can bet your ass I am. If you are anywhere near Princeton, NJ or Brattleboro, VT, I’d love to see you!
We will be reading a bit of our work, so I need to choose a piece to share. If you have a favorite post of mine, let me know in the comments!
As you can see, this weekly recap is all about me. Next week I’ll get back to sharing my favorite things from around the internet and from my Facebook page. That’s after I spend most of the week trying to decide what to wear to these book signings, practicing my signature, and begging my overactive sweat glands to not embarrass me in front of a bunch of strangers.
