Just Add Water: My Week Condensed 3/23/13

My husband is pretty private, so my desire to tell everyone I know everything about everything sometimes makes him uncomfortable. He was so proud of this contract he drafted five years ago, that he was happy to share it here, despite the…ahem…personal nature. The men that read it all gave him a virtual high five, and we still haven’t heard what his mom thought of it, although I can imagine she shook her head disapprovingly.

For Crock Pot Thursday we made Easy Sweet and Sour Meatballs. They were a hit with the whole family, and the four of us polished off almost two pounds of meatballs. My sister-in-law called me out for making my own meatballs, making the recipe much less easy, but I can’t help myself. I’m a freak and love to make meatballs. Also, I’m cheap, had ground beef on hand, and didn’t want to buy meatballs.

We visited a friend and her new baby, and I wrote a post all doped up on the enchanting smell of new baby. Some things make me so happy I’m soaring for days. I share five of those things.

I spent all week waiting for my kids to be cute enough to photograph for Real Mom of NJ’s Parents’ Favorite Things Photo Challenge, and on Wednesday they finally came through for me. Even though it was cold, my kids insisted on going coat-free, saying, “Please, Mom? It’s the first day of spring!” I relented, and they sat outside, sharing a bag of popcorn, and watching the construction crew on our street. My heart overflows with love and gratitude when I see my five and three year old as more than siblings. As friends. Check out Sam’s Pinterest page to see the other entries, and while you’re there, follow her. She pins some awesome stuff.

We don’t live on the beach, but we are close enough that we keep beach gear in the car all summer long, and   we can be to the water in fifteen minutes or so. We have friends who live on the water, though, and going to their house for a few hours feels like vacation. Here’s how my Saturday looked.

Yes, I’m bragging.

Have you entered to win a copy of I Just Want to Pee Alone yet? There’s still time, but not much!
